India's leading fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is ready to return for the important fourth Test against England in Manchester, which begins on July 23. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj confirmed Bumrah’s availability while speaking to the media, giving fans a boost of confidence.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar had earlier shared that Bumrah was rested from some matches to manage his workload. This decision followed concerns about a back issue he developed during the Sydney Test against Australia in January. Bumrah played in the first and third Tests of the ongoing series and was one of India's top bowlers despite the team losing both games.
Speaking about the upcoming Manchester Test, Siraj said the team is focusing on bowling in the right areas and taking lessons from how patiently England batted in the last match. Combinations may change, but we must remain focused and patient,” Siraj said. He acknowledged that England showed great discipline with the bat in the last match.
In the third Test at Lord’s, India came close to victory but fell short by 22 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took seven wickets, including five in the first innings, and was India's top performer. Mohammed Siraj was unlucky—he got out when the ball hit the pitch and rolled onto the stumps. Ravindra Jadeja was still batting when India lost, missing a big chance to tie the series.
England currently leads the five-match series 2-1. The fourth Test in Manchester will be a must-win game for India to stay alive in the contest. Both teams have named strong squads. Ben Stokes will lead England, while Shubman Gill will captain India. Bumrah's return is expected to strengthen India’s bowling attack for the upcoming clash.
